Password generator and check-up
Last updated: 2026-10-25
Create strong passwords where you need them, and find the ones that should be changed. Both happen on your iPhone, without contacting any website or service.
Password generator
When you edit a password field, you can generate a value instead of typing one.
- Random passwords from 8 to 128 characters, 20 by default. Choose capital letters, small letters, digits and symbols, and leave out characters that are easy to mix up, such as 0 and O.
- Passphrases of 3 to 12 English words, 5 by default, with a separator of your choice and, if you want, capital letters and a number. They are easier to type and remember.
The app shows how strong the result is, and you can generate again until you are happy. Values come from the iPhone's secure random number source.
Password check-up
The check-up looks through every secret field in the vault and lists:
- Reused passwords, where the same password is used in two or more items, so one leak would open several accounts.
- Weak passwords, by the same strength estimate the app shows when you type.
- Old passwords, in items that have not changed for more than a year.
The list names the item and field, never the password itself. Tap an entry to open the item and change it.
What it does not check
The check-up does not look up passwords in lists of known data breaches. That would mean contacting a service on the internet, and the app makes no network connections. A strength estimate is a guide, not a guarantee.
